This is Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, and educated man and a sybarite.
Qajar loved photography. This is him and Antoin Sevruguin, Qajar's personal photographer. Preparing for a session.
This is Golestan -- Qajar's palace.
Qajar didn't let anyone take photos of his wives. An avid photographer himself, he was the only one who was allowed to enter his harem with a camera. The rumour is that he had around 100 concubines. This is one of them.
His favourite wife is on the right.
This is her again.
And again. He loved taking pictures of her.
Qajar and some of his concubines.
Wives on a picnic.
