The characters dropping when someone said "Andy's Coming" was actually always against the rules for characters to do. When it went viral the rule was more strictly enforced.
The Utilidor isn't actually big enough for a full Ambulance, there are emergency golf carts thoug that will take a guest to the mouth of the tunnel where a full ambulance can be waiting.

^^^ The Dream Suite in Disneyland is indeed above the Pirates of the Caribbean. Walt's apartment above the fire station is for select tours and for the Disney family to stay in if they visit.

I live in California and go to Disneyland all the time. The Suite is above Pirates. Its called the Dream Suite (Look it up) and also Walts Apartment on Main St is big enough for 1 or 2 people. It was meant for him to sleep in the park when big plans were being done so he can overlook anything that went wrong. And they BARELY take people on tours up there. Usually only celebrities and the Disney family are allowed.

EPCOT stood for Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow. Walt had originally desired it to be under a dome with retail space and apartments where employees could rent, live and work in the city.
This was fascinating, but I know of at least one more time when the park had an unplanned closing due to severe storns. We took our children in the 80's, and the sign outside said that Disneyland was closed for the day. We did go the following day, however.
They DO sell gum. I know because my 4yr old stole a pack from one of the stores while waiting for the parade. I made him return it though.
Another error not mentioned yet ~ The Shooting Gallery was not inside the Penny Arcade (with live ammo, that would have been a bloody mess.) There were actually two Shooting Galleries, one in Frontierland, and one in Adventureland.
I was there in 1980 in costume character. We did not share underwear. Nope, no communal underwear.
I can't speak on Disneyland but Disney World definitely does not sell gum. As a long time employee I know this to be true. You can't even get gum at the gas stations that are on Disney property. What your child stole might have been some other small candy.
