In East Providence a white female poodle that was hit by a Toyota sedan went on a 11-mile (18 km) ride inside the car's grille. The car was traveling about 50 mph (80 km/h) near Taunton, Mass., when the dog ran into the road. The driver hit the brakes but thought that the dog ran away. 11 miles (18 km) later a passing motorist pointed out the "passenger" to the unwitting driver. Police and animal control workers freed the poodle. The dog is doing fine and the Animal Control Center is now looking for the dog's owner.
